Our Community Pantry is a welcoming place for members of the community who are experiencing food insecurity and hardship due to the escalating cost of living. Contents of hampers are chosen by clients from a range of healthy options. The experience is like shopping at your friendly neighbourhood grocer. Families have all the ingredients they need for yummy dinners and nutritious school lunches for the kids.
Each year we give away more than 7,000 food hampers
Our Community Pantry aims to conform with environmental best practice, it's stocked with rescued food. This is food that would have filled waste disposal sites adding to environmental problems. Apart from some damage and blemishes, all of the food is delicious! Our volunteers sort the food, compost the waste and our clients only get the best.
Good nutrition can solve an array of health problems people would otherwise be experiencing. This means there is less strain on our public health services and ultimately our collective tax dollars. These savings can then be channelled into enhancing current services or new and innovative projects.
